Ty Buckelew brings his passion for service to his wealth management practice at Watts Capital. He creates tailored, comprehensive financial plans for them bolstered by lifelong coaching to help them achieve their financial goals and bring on additional resources as their needs evolve.
Prior to joining Watts Capital, Ty founded and led the Manhattan office of Edward Jones & Co. Previously Ty had a successful 13-year career with respected non-profit and philanthropic organizations with roles that included Director of Development at SCAN New York, Executive Director at the Institute for Civic Leadership, Global Program Manager at the Dekeyser & Friends Foundation, College Prep and Teen Education Manager at New York Cares, and Athletics and Major Gifts Officer at Columbia University.
Ty earned his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Columbia University, where he was a 4-year Varsity Basketball letter-winner. He also holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Nonprofit Management from CUNY - Baruch College's School of Public Affairs. Ty received a Certificate for the Future of Integrated Europe from the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy in the Czech Republic.
Ty lives in Harlem, NYC with his fiancée Erin and their Jack Russell Terrier - Rex, where he continues an active lifestyle rooted in the service of others. In his spare time, Ty enjoys running the NYC Marathon and raising money for NYC youth recreation, participating in the Coney Island Polar Dip to benefit Camp Sunshine for terminally-ill children, and volunteering in his neighborhood where he received the Auxiliary NYPD Officer of the Year honor in 2007.
